Another laugh - relentless. The word stung the first he heard it, not understanding his Captain the way he does now. The compliment, the fondness are easier on his ears and he decides he rather enjoys the way Crozier says it. Relentless.
"I suppose if I must fail at anything, I'd be happy for that, sir. Well, so long as the punishment is fair."
And what a punishment it would be, remaining at Crozier's side. Serving as his steward and hand as long as the man would allow - and then this. A mouth against his own, their bodies and close tangle of limbs. A sweet punishment, all of this. He leans into the kiss, chasing it, tasting the whisky on his tongue and finding it warm and sweet all wrapped up in Crozier.
"I will tell you about every stitch, every technique, every piece I've repaired if you insist on kissing me after each story, sir. Who am I to deny my Captain?"
The drink makes him a little bolder, veins flush and warm with it, mind pleasantly swimming in all things Crozier now as he kisses him a second time, smiling behind it.
