• fourthwalling Conditionally okay. Francis Crozier was a real guy, however, I am playing a very fictionalized version. If you think your character would have some awareness or knowledge of Franklin's lost expedition, the historical event, that's fine. The show/book and personal details invented/elaborated for those things, no thanks.

WARNINGS

• about the show The Terror a semi-historical semi-supernatural horror story based on a real life incident. It deals with spooky monsters, but also abuse, addiction, assault, suicide, racism, homophobia, sexism, colonialist exploitation, murder, cannibalism, body horror, and so on.
• about the character Crozier is a career 1800s navy officer who sometimes assigns punishments on his subordinates that by today's standards are explicitly torture/abuse. He sometimes makes spiteful, petty calls in ways that toe over the line of appropriate reactions to perceived slights. This is exacerbated by his alcoholism, which he hits a wall with during the Franklin expedition, no longer able to be "functional" about it and displaying all the worst aspects. Though he does quit alcohol, it takes a dire incident to prompt it. Crozier also experiences discrimination as middleborn Irish.

• physical contact Sure. He maintains period-typical boundaries, but has no aversion to platonic touch and often initiates it, he's a big "manfully holding you by the shoulders to support you during your breakdown about freezing to death while also dying of scurvy" guy.
• fighting/violence It's fine. Francis is a normal human and middle-aged (late 40s-early 50s depending on exact canon point), and he can punch somebody okay, is a decent shot, as sturdy as any seaman and scrappy as any Irishman, but he's far more of a sailor than a fighter. He has seen some combat over the course of his career, but it's been chiefly exploration.
• romance/shipping Yes, OTA. Special shoutouts to Fitzjames, Jopson, Sophy, Ross. I won't play non-con and I'm not interested in very underage partners, but otherwise welcome anything. Explicit smut is fun, fade to black equally cool.
note: i have Book Knowledge. i am not hard opposed to crozier/silna but the way the novel does it is pretty uuuuuhhhhhhh,,,...... so idk man if someone out there is diehard into it m..maybe??
• abbreviated kinks I'm always going to default to writing him as a top, but if you feel strongly about that dynamic, I am open to alternatives depending on the vibes. Open to all manner of content, cuddly fumbling to kink. Authority play, everyone wants daddy to call them a good boy on this frozen wasteland, D/S elements, etc. Most things are cool as long as it's not gross-out stuff, non-con, or minors.
• supernatural None. He has a measure of awareness, but he himself is very baseline.
• ic triggers He can be cranky and touchy about a lot of things, it's just how he is lol. No extreme land mines. In general I am open to being tagged with any content as long as you're alright with whatever reaction and you warn appropriately.
• misc When in doubt, anachronistic texting, or a fake jamjar. I'm alright with modern AUs (with as few changes to careers/circumstances as possible) but prefer they not be the default. On that note, while I am a hobbyist history enthusiast for some time periods, this one is not in my usual wheelhouse, so if I screw up feel free to correct me.
